Two mind-numbing days of tests are over. The horrors of Pure Maths and Chemistry are behind me.

YAY!

Also, I have a week long holiday to look forward to, one of which will be spent watching a good play and hanging out with Ruby - and possibly, just maybe, a Kl trip that was cancelled before but is now on (but just maybe).

YAY!!

Also...say hello to www.missmichy.com !

YAY whoot whoot yeah awesome!!!

I'll be coherent in a bit, I promise.

YAY YAY YAY YAY WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

*throws confetti in air and jumps around*

Phew - I'm done.

For now, only the domain name is registered, it hasn't got the software on it yada yada technical stuff, so it'll only be properly up perhaps by the end of this month. Till then, keep tuned in to this site and when I do properly and finally move over there, I'll make another blog post announcing it.

Have to transfer all my old posts from here what - not easy :p

Those who are linking to my blog, do change the address when I finally move, kie? Thanks a lot. I appreciate it lots, really!

It's off to bed for me now, it has been a sleep deprived few days of late for me, so take good care and I'll update soon! Two birthdays coming up tomorrow - there'll be cake galore in L63 and I need sleep.

Night dears.

033 just because
Just because I don't talk about it doesn't mean I've forgotten.

And just because we act all nice with each other doesn't mean we like each other.

So why are we pretending? Why make the effort when we honestly think the other isn't worth it?

I really (and foolishly) thought that maybe it was starting to cool down again, maybe into indifference, but I've been proved wrong. Again.

You're just as two faced as ever, and perhaps even better at it now.

So why don't we just stop this pretense, eh?

It's not my forte - even if it is yours.

032 it's off
Yeah, it's off for good.

I really, really should have seen it coming - but at least one of them tried to make other plans, so that's good. Ruby and I will be watching Emily on Emerald Hill together before (hopefully) going to Jusco.

Good night everyone.

031 chit chat

Remember the KL trip I told you about, where I was supposed to have a girls day out?

It's probably off. I'm severely disappointed with someone regarding it and apathetic towards the other because her reason is unavoidable. So is the former's, but somehow I can't help but feel that if she has time for certain people almost every day, surely she could have spared a day for me.

Also, I may be moving my blog to another server where it's www. missmichy .com straightaway. Yup, I'll be getting more upload space etc, be able to have pretty 'skins' and templates, things like that. I'm still considering it, and if I do move, I'll let you guys know.

I'm tired, disappointed, hungry and upset, and I don't want to do much thinking.

Bye.

031 rawr
This blog of mine has been going through a slight lull lately, don't you think?

I have a perfectly good reason for this, because...

THE MONTHLY TESTS ARE UPON US! :O

Terrible, right? I'll be back when this week is done, and trust me, I can't wait for it to be over.

Because then I'll have time to do things like this: take pictures of myself in dressing rooms.
Hah. No, seriously, I miss my shopping trips. I virtuously turned down one a week or two ago to prep for this test. Watch out KL, Miss Michy is coming through.

Why is my hair so frizzy there? You know, I have never ever done anything to my hair. Yup, you heard me right.

Haha, of course I wash it every day and trim it every now and then lah - what were you thinking?

What I meant is that I've never subjected it to a straightening iron or the hot confines of a steam bowl for a perm, never dyed it, never highlighted it - nothing. I'm not sure if that's a rad or sad thing, but I'm quite happy. For one thing, it (usually) behaves and is 'natural' looking. By natural I mean not ironed and flat to within an inch of it's life or kinked up in odd looking curls. And it's so soft to the touch! ...heh.

But I digress. There are so many fun filled events coming up! This coming Saturday, I'll be watching the famous Pearly Chua in her 112th performance (or something like that) in Emily of Emerald Hill at SMK Bukit Mewah, which is near where I live.

I am so excited about it because I've heard so much about the play. I wanted to see it so badly last time when it was at Istana Budaya/other drama theatres, but I could never go. Now it's like a 10 minute drive from my house and only RM 15 per ticket to boot! Yay!

Also, on this coming public holiday (21st August - only for Kedah, Perlis and Negeri people), I'll be going out with Ruby and Lisa, and we'll be catching a train to Megamall. It'll be so fun and I am so looking forward to it! It's been ages since I met up with those two besties of mine, and (private joke here) CHARLIE'S ANGELS UNITE!

Expect loads of pictures from either event - I'm going to go cam crazy.

By the way, did you guys hear about the great Olympus sale? The MJU 810 is going for only RM 1499! You're saving around RM 607 from this sale when you buy that. It's so cheap for an 8.1 megapixel digicam, right? I'd really like it, but my phone will have to do for now.

Well, breakfast is about to be served (herb sausages, yum!) so take care, see you in a week :)

030 gadgets galore

I was just going through my brother's room trying to find his yearbook (for editorial purposes, I swear - really!) when I came upon his gadget collection.

It's pretty cool, you know. I always thought we were missing out because we don't have a PS2 or a Gamecube and all that, but then I took out all the gadgets we do have and laid it out on the table.

Wow.

From the left, I see an old Gameboy Advance (poor lighting, but it was so much fun then), a Gameboy SP, a (oh-so-gorgeous) pure white Nintendo Ds Lite, Playstation (ancient, but handy) and his Sony Ericsson W550i. Goodness.

My collection pales in comparison - my only notable gadgets are my MP3 player and my Nokia N70. His is more game oriented, while mine is more for everyday use.

I know it's not super high end, but I'm happy with what I have now. Next on my list is a good digital camera and a decent laptop. I've pretty much given up on an iPod already as I don't really think it's necessary.

Sigh, random. I had something else to say, but I'm tired now, so maybe later sugar.

029 blood drive (for real)
This will be a no frills entry, just text - mostly because I have my books to get back to and I didn't bring my camera to school anyway. Mainly because I'm sneezing my head off and it's pretty uncomfortable.

So I woke up today not feeling like crap - thanks to a phone call from my boy (mwah ) and also to the very regular doses of medicine. 'I can do this!', I thought as I knotted my tie and laced up my shoes.

Fast forward two hours ahead to 8.15 am and I'm alone in the AVA room, sneezing like crazy. Muttering under my breath, I lug the (battle scarred?) plastic chairs across the room and sort out the prettier ones for our use later. Prettier ones mean the plastic chairs that look newer, don't have dusty shoe prints on them, don't have names scrawled all over them, and don't have bits of food sticking to them. It was tough, but in the end I managed to find around 30 pretty ones.

Thankfully, my help comes at around 8.30 am in the form of Jess, Min Wai and Keen Hong. Together, work moves along at a faster pace, and before I know it, we have everything in place and the floor all swept and nice, and above all - clean. No easy feat, mind you.

Unfortunately, the Hospital Besar Seremban staff came a little too early and it's a tad embarassing. They had to help us lug the tables inside and I really wished they would let us do it by ourselves. If not hor, then later at the hospital, who knows what talk would go around? The kids weren't ready for us? We had to lug gargantuan piles of chairs for our use? Etc? Make me kan cheong only.

So the boys moved a few motorcycles out of place and we helped to bring the supplies in before everything was set up by them. We unfolded big stretchers, fluffed up pillows, moved some more tables, set out the refreshments they brought (currypuffs, some green pastries, and Julie's peanut butter cookies as well as a big thermos of hot steaming Milo. Never ending supply, I swear!) and generally got everything ready. The blood drive was scheduled to start at 9 am and start at 9 am we did.

I went to call Upper Six 1 first and when I saw the horde coming, I was so happy! I thought we'd get at least 20 pints of blood from this class alone! Alas, half the people were there for a truly genuine Malaysian purpose - to sibuk around. Haisyurh.

Me : Eh, Soon Leong, take form.
Him : I sibuk around only lah.
Me : Oh.

So they sibuked for a while and then made their way back to class. The blood drive was well underway and I calmed down a bit. Almost the whole committee had turned up by now and all was good. Wan Jiat was bustling around ticking off names on our list, Sin Yee too was monitoring the going ons, while Vee Kuan walked around talking to people lying on the stretchers, making them feel better.

Problem was, a lot of people registered - 112, in fact, but only 63 could donate. Why? Well, the nurse disclosed that a lot of the girls had an iron deficiency and told me to tell them to eat more iron. 'Next time, tell them to eat well 2 weeks before donating/take vitamins/not eat Maggi Mee'. Well nurse dear, I would have loved to remind the general blood donating public, but then you all/hospital office reply only ONE WEEK FROM THE BLOOD DRIVE FOR WHAT?! Think people can do miracles is it? I nearly popped a blood vessel myself waiting for your reply! Sheesh.

A lot of friends were milling around the place - like the aforementioned committee, the classmates I had managed to persuade, Sobana, Huey Yi, Upper Sixers, Amy, Wei Kuan, Kelly and many more. So apart from people lying on stretchers squeezing on bits of PVC tubes to get the blood flowing, here are some notable events.

Boy : *lies on stretcher*
Nurse : *proceeds to find vein*
Friends behind him : eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Boy : Shaddup lah, not you donating right.

and then

Ramani : *lies on stretcher*
Nurse : *pokes*
Ramani : *watches as blood squirts on his shirt* Oh dear.
Nurse : *fixes things*
Me : Oh my god are you okay?!
Ramani : I'm okay, but my shirt...gone already!
Me : So you're okay right? ...AH KUAN! COME TAKE PICTURE FOR YEARBOOK!
Wei Kuan : Wah, special case! *comes with digital camera*
Ramani : *makes V-sign*
Me : Eh, move your hand a bit, don't block the blood.
Ramani : ?!?!?!?! Terrible lah you.

Editor's note : He's fine, don't worry. He calls his blood ' too eager to be donated'. Heh.

Me : *walks around outside* Hey Amy, whatcha doing?
Amy : Oh, nothing.
Boy : *holds on to locked door*

From inside the room comes a feeble "Michelle...is that you?".

Me : Is someone locked in there?
Amy : No lah.
Voice 1 (Keen Hong): Michelle?!?!?!
Voice 2 (Kei Ching) : Oi, let me out ah.
Me : ?!?!?!
Amy : Haha, yes lah!

And yes, they got out - eventually.

Huey Yi : I have to go home! *on stretcher, waiting for blood bag to be attached*
Me : So squeeze harder or something!
Huey Yi : Right.

10 minutes later, her blood bag was filled. Talk about fast! Other people took an average of 20 minutes to half an hour. I think a few even had to take an hour to fill a bag!

So, apart from those events, a boy fainted and had to occupy a stretcher for quite a while. Poor thing. His face was so pale! He looked better after a while, but goodness - his lips were almost blue. They said he donated too much blood or something.

Besides that, everything went without a hitch. It was more like a big makan than anything else - people were milling about the snack table, sipping on hot, sweet Milo and chomping on pastries and talking, laughing, joking around and generally having a good time. I had to go home at 1.25 pm, but I think the blood drive ended around that time, more or less.

To those who donated blood and are reading this, a big, big thank you to you guys and girls - the form six league may have handled the running of the whole thing, but it was you people who had tubes attached to your arms who really made the thing a success! No blood, no talk, in this case.

Take care everyone, happy reading.

028 blood drive

Hi everyone! I'll post later on how the blood drive went, cause I'm so tired right now, even though I didn't donate blood, teehee. Hey, running around trying to keep people quiet and checking out permission slips is no easy job, you know!

Before I forget, though, <font style="font-weight: bold; More on that later, the Sandman's a-knocking.

Bye!

027 where i eat
Unfortunately, there'll be no pictures of swanky places or upscale restaurants here - simply because I don't usually eat at those places. I mean, why spend RM 150 on an entree, main course, dessert, and coffee and tea afterwards when I can get pretty full on a hotdog from a burger stall for RM 1.50?

It's nice once in a while lah - I love luxury as much as any other girl, but I won't indulge in (too much of) that till I start earning my own keep and/or have someone to wine and dine me in style and/or he comes over again.

Anyhow. This is where I usually eat/have my dad tapau food from, and when usually, I mean the days where I'm not having porridge/crackers/toast/something generally not dinner or not eating out.

Yes, it looks a tad ratty from this angle, but it really is quite nice and clean inside! This was taken from the back entrance because I know that by the time I reach the front entrance, I'd be too hungry to really bother with too many pictures, teehee. The stall you see there is a satay stall, and it's not too bad, except that the meat is a little too lean and we all know that Malaysians like their satay to be slightly fat and therefore succulent!

Back before they demolished the old centre where all the food stalls used to be, a couple of the stalls that now join forces in this modern lot had a strong following. They served good food, and for cheap.
They still do.

Now there are three of my favourite stalls there, and there is virtually anything you can think of! There's meehoon soup, clear soup with all sorts of ingredients or liu, loh shee fun, wan tan mee, yam cakes, lobak cakes, kok chai, tong sui - things like that. Sure, there's nothing like burgers or chicken rice, but if you want that, there's KFC and Ah Chan's Chicken Rice just a few steps away.

This is my staple meal.

Loh shee fun with curry poured over it, along with a small bowl of fishball soup and their special tangy sauce. Doesn't it look delicious? It is! The loh shee fun is smooth and springy, the curry sauce thick and savoury with minced chicken, and the thick, dark sauce flavourful and absolutely yummy. The spring onions add a nice crunch and it's very hearty and satisfying.

However, I do NOT like this one dish - meen seen.

It's supposedly really good for your health and non-fattening and all that - but I just don't like it. See, whenever I'm sick, I'm supposed to eat either this or plain porridge. So this food has mentally associated with 'food that I eat when I'm sick' and therefore I generally avoid it when I'm healthy. It's too bland for my tastes - I like my food to be savoury and spicy and sour and sweet and delicious.

I usually have a cup of leong cha or chrysanthenum tea to finish it all off, but dad prefers this.

That's a bowl of tong sui you see there. There are many types of tong sui, like red bean soup, green bean soup, bubur cha cha, things like that - this one is clear sweet soup with cubes of sweet potato. It's also my favourite, but I was feeling stuffed after my loh shee fun and leong cha and so dad had the whole bowl to himself.

Besides those 'heavy' dishes, they also sell all sorts of little snacks and pastries, like Nyonya kuih, cheese bread, dumplings, butter cakes and cookies.

That little girl looks like she can't make up her mind. I'd be hard pressed to make a choice too, what with that wide selection of goodies heaped on that table. There's another table laden with other snacks inside the place, but the whole section was bustling with activity so I couldn't get a good shot.

I like that photo, even if it's blurry - well, I generally like any photo where the children and their parents are holding hands. So cute!

Anyway, since I'm sick now, I guess there'll be no yummy loh shee fun or sticky rice cakes anytime soon - instead, I'll be getting the dreaded packet of meen seen tonight. Yuck! Think I can wrangle some vercimelli soup instead?

And some fishballs? And maybe just a teeny weeny bit of spicy chilli and pickles? Yes? ...no?

Oh well.
